Saturday we went to the garage sale at Aqua Books (all books were 3/$1). We picked up $3 worth of books (no very exciting titles, but hey - they were only 33 cents each). We had lunch at Eat Bistro (located inside the bookstore). Since it was Celiac Awareness Week, they actually had a different menu than the regular one posted outside. I ended up ordering the ginger carrot soup with chai foam & the roasted vegetables with chick pea cakes. Rob had the chicken fingers with honey dill dip. Both were awesome :-)
Afterwards, we checked out the Soca Reggae festival happening in Old Market Square. Unfortunately, there were no main stage acts going on at the time, so we decided to visit Toad Hall Toys instead. I was very good - lots of petting but no purchasing. Still no live entertainment at the Reggae festival (it was probably all scheduled for later in the day).
On the way home we noticed ANOTHER book sale. This one was at Sam's Place: $1 per inch. Rob found a couple of paperbacks.
Crashed when we got home - another 2 hour nap (I have really got to stop doing that, but it's like my batteries just stop). Still tired, we decided to watch one of the many movies sitting on the Tivo: Zombieland. It was pretty fun; I had some quibbles with the story but it was still good.
Today we hit the sidewalk sale at Garden City. I found $5 shoes & Rob found $10 Hawaian shirts (nice ones!). As an added bonus, a band that had played at Folk Fest was doing a free live show at center court. Ladies of the Canyon is a folk/country band from Montreal. I hadn't heard any of their songs before; they were pretty high energy & harmonised very well.
I was going to bake some banana loaves today too, but I forgot to check for butter when I pulled the bananas from the freezer this morning so I guess that's on tomorrow's agenda now.
